Dr. Tawainga Katsvairo, CEO
Dr. Tawainga Katsvairo, the CEO to Arc Horizon, combines technical expertise in renewable energy with knowledge in project financing and a strong command on policy. Dr Katsvairo is versed in site selection, project management, environmental permitting issues and procedures, evaluation of new technologies, strategic planning, and feasibility studies for new projects.
In additional to a technical Science PhD, Tawainga holds a minor at graduate level in Managerial Economics and has assisted companies in securing project funding. He is involved in renewable energy projects with a portfolio value of over $300 million. Tawainga develops and evaluates business plans.
Dr. Katsvairo has successfully written numerous grants with agencies including National Science Foundation, USDA, Department of Energy and several state and private foundation grants. He presents grant writing workshops on federal and state grants and loan guarantees.
Dr Katsvairo has presented scientific seminars/lectures, conducted research and managed projects in several countries including Puerto Rico, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Poland and South Africa.
Previously, Dr Katsvairo was a lead scientist of a high impact tri-state (FL, GA, AL) perennial grass/crop/livestock integrated cropping systems program which among other areas, sought to increase the acreage of bahiagrass for use as feedstock for renewable energy. This project is expected to generate over $ 1 billion additional revenue in the Southeast.
Author of over 70 publications, Dr Tawainga Katsvairo earned his M.Sc. from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. |
